Spray Foam Insulation Quote and Estimate: Book a Free On-Site Measurement
How to get a spray foam insulation quote
You get a spray foam insulation quote from PolyJacks in two steps: book a free on-site measurement, then receive a written estimate after the visit. There is no price on this website, by phone or in the booking form, and that is deliberate. The cost of foam depends on the area to be covered, the thickness the job needs and the preparation the building needs first, and none of those can be read from a description.

Pick "Spray foam insulation" on the booking form. The button opens the form with insulation already selected, and you can switch to the other service on the form if you came for something else.
We work within about 35 miles of Spring Hill, KS, on steel shops, metal and pole barns, attics and commercial roofs, spraying closed-cell foam on the inside of the building. The buildings we spray shows the range.
Why we measure before we write anything down
A spray foam estimate is a set of areas and thicknesses, and photos hide both. A roof that looks simple from the lot can have a bay of purlins you cannot reach from the floor, a mezzanine that blocks the lift, or a run of wall behind stored equipment. We also do not assess insulation from the street or from a photo, because from the outside no one can see what is, or is not, inside a wall or under a roof panel.
So the order is fixed: visit first, numbers second. An estimate built on a guessed square footage can move once the real building is in front of us, and we would rather not hand you a number that has to change.
What we measure on the visit
Plan on the visit covering these things. Each one changes the estimate.
| What we check | Why it changes the estimate |
|---|---|
| Surface area of every face to be sprayed, including gables, bays and ceilings | Area is the base of the estimate |
| Framing: purlin and girt spacing, rafters, studs, and how deep they run | Deeper framing means more surface to cover and more edges to wrap |
| Access: door height, the route from the road to the spray area, overhead obstructions | Decides where the rig sits and how the lift moves, see the POLY 10 rig |
| What is on the surface now: rust, paint, dust, grease, old fasteners, moisture | The foam has to bond to a clean, dry surface |
| What is in the way: wiring, fixtures, pipes, sprinkler lines, flues, stored goods | Items that must be moved, protected or left bare |
| Existing insulation, if any, and what it is | Old insulation has to be out before foam goes on, see the removal section below |
| How the building is used: heated or not, animals, a wash bay, a woodshop | Sets what you want the foam to do |
| Where the power and water are, and where a trailer can park | Practical limits on the day |
For the visit itself, being able to unlock the building and point to what is bothering you is enough. On spray day itself there is a full list of what to clear, and it lives in one place: what happens on spray day.
What your written spray foam estimate must show
After the visit you receive the estimate in writing. It is built on a short list of fields taken from the Federal Trade Commission's R-value Rule. For installed insulation that rule asks the installer to give the customer a dated, signed document stating the coverage area, the thickness and the R-value of the insulation installed (16 CFR 460.17, via Cornell LII). The rule also asks that the figures be given for each part of the building separately instead of as one combined total.
Here is how we put those fields on the page.
| Field | What it means on our estimate | Where the number comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Coverage area | Square feet of each surface sprayed, listed per surface, such as east wall or roof deck | Our measurements on the visit |
| Thickness | Inches of foam installed on that surface | The thickness we plan, and the crew's recorded readings on spray day |
| R-value | The insulating value for that surface at that thickness | The foam maker's published data for the product we spray, never inches multiplied by a per-inch figure |
| Date | The date of the document | The day we issue it |
| Signature | Signed by PolyJacks | Signed for PolyJacks |
Two notes on that table. First, the R-value comes from the maker's tested data for the thickness stated, so the number on your estimate traces to a document you can read, and we do not multiply a per-inch figure by inches. What those published numbers look like is on closed-cell spray foam. Second, the FTC rule is written for home insulation, which it describes as insulation for old or new homes, condominiums, apartments, modular homes or mobile homes (16 CFR 460.2, via Cornell LII). A steel shop or a barn is often outside that definition. We use the same fields on those buildings anyway, because they are the fields that let you compare two estimates fairly.

Old insulation: who removes it
PolyJacks does not remove existing insulation. If there is fiberglass, cellulose or anything else on the surface we are to spray, you arrange removal before spray day, and the visit records what is there so the estimate is for a clean surface.
One material is a hard stop. Vermiculite fill, and any fill that no one can identify, is never disturbed by our crew. The EPA says to leave vermiculite insulation undisturbed in attics and walls, to assume it contains asbestos, and to hire a professional asbestos contractor if remodeling would disturb it (U.S. EPA, Protect Your Family From Asbestos-Contaminated Vermiculite Insulation). The EPA text is about homes, but the material behaves the same way in any building: if we find loose fill we cannot identify, we stop and tell you, and the estimate waits.
This is the only page on the site that states the removal rule in full. Other pages link here instead of repeating it.
Service area: about 35 miles from Spring Hill
Our work area is a circle of about 35 miles around Spring Hill, KS, covering the Kansas side and the nearer Missouri side of the Kansas City area. If your building sits near the edge of that circle, say so when you book and give the street address, and we will confirm before anyone drives out. The visit is free inside the circle.
Permits and the adopted building code differ by city and county. The local rules are collected on permits and adopted codes by office, and the visit is a good time to ask which office covers your address.
What happens after the visit
You receive the written estimate. You are free to compare it with anyone else's, and it is useful to put both side by side by area, thickness and R-value per surface, not by the bottom line alone. The factors that move a spray foam estimate up or down are explained, without any figures, on spray foam cost factors. If you accept, we schedule the spray day, and we reschedule if the weather or the building falls outside the product's limits, which is a safeguard for your result; see cold-weather spray foam limits.
FAQ
How do I get a spray foam insulation estimate?
Book a free on-site measurement with the link on this page. We come to the building, measure it, and send a written estimate afterward. We do not give a price by phone or on the website.
Do you give spray foam quotes over the phone?
No. We measure on site first, because area, thickness and preparation decide the quote, and those can only be checked in person. The booking form is the way to start: book a free on-site measurement.
Is the on-site measurement free?
Yes, within about 35 miles of Spring Hill. Have the building unlocked and be ready to point out any drips, cold spots or areas you want left alone. A list of anything stored near the walls or roof helps.
How long is a spray foam quote good for?
Two months from the date printed on it.
Do you remove the old insulation?
No. PolyJacks does not remove existing insulation. You arrange removal before spray day, the visit records what is there, and our estimate covers a clean surface. Vermiculite and unidentified fill are never disturbed.
